Bicycle Accidents

Statistics show that fewer than 10% of road accidents involve cyclists but, despite this, there are more than 15,000 cyclists killed or injured on the road each year. Cyclists are particularly vulnerable on the road and most likely to suffer injuries and loss in a road accident.

Cycle accidents can occur for a number of reasons, for example:

  • Collision with another vehicle
  • Potholes and defects in the road surface
  • Bicycle failure

A cycling accident can impact on your family and on your finances, with minor road accidents often leading to time off work. In more serious cases, the bike accident can result in months of rehabilitation in hospital or even death.

If you've been injured in a cycling accident that was not your fault, you may be entitled to accident compensation.

We offer specialist advice to victims of cycle accidents and, where appropriate, will manage all aspects of your claim including:

  • Repairs/replacement cycle - to the exact specification of your current cycle
  • Replacement accessories
  • Replacement helmet and clothing
  • Loss of earnings
  • Compensation for your injuries
  • Physiotherapy

How long to claim?

Your claim must be made within 3 years of the date of your bike accident or, in the case of children, 3 years after their 18th birthday.
