Whiplash
Whiplash is used to describe a range of neck injuries caused by
the sudden jolting of the head. Whiplash is common in road
traffic accidents, however the injury can also occur in other ways,
including falling from stools, bicycles or horses. A whiplash
injury can even be caused by a low-speed road accident, or a sudden
knock to the head. In 2007, 75% of all UK motor insurance
claims in 2007 were due to a whiplash injury.
