Whiplash injury
Whiplash is used to describe various types of neck
injury and is usually caused by the sudden jolting of the head,
often occurring in a car accident or from a
fall.
A whiplash injury is the most common injury resulting from a car
accident and hundreds of people throughout the UK suffer from
whiplash every week. In 2007, a BBC study found that 75% of all UK
motor insurance claims that year were due to a whiplash
injury.
If you have suffered a whiplash injury, it may be necessary for
you to undergo treatment such as physiotherapy to aid your
recovery. My Accident Solicitor will ensure that you have
access to the appropriate treatment.
Symptoms of a whiplash injury
It may not be immediately obvious that you have suffered a
whiplash injury, as the symptoms can take several hours or longer
to show.
The symptoms of your whiplash injury may get worse over the days
and weeks following your accident and the pain can often transfer
to your shoulders and upper back.
Symptoms of a whiplash injury can include:
- Pain, stiffness and loss of movement in the neck
- Stiffness in the back of the head
- Headaches
- Dizziness and blurred vision
- Difficulty swallowing
- Muscle spasms
- Tiredness and poor concentration
- Pain in the shoulders, arms or lower back
- 'Pins and Needles' sensation in the arms
If you've suffered a whiplash injury in an accident that was not
your fault, My Accident Solicitor can help you claim the
compensation you deserve.
